Tuesdays with Dorie: Irish Soda Bread

What a great recipe! When my mom heard I was making soda bread and NOT using her recipe, I think she was a bit hurt, but turns out, it was essentially her recipe. My version includes raisins (about a cup) and caraway seeds (just over a tablespoon). It came out perfectly and tasted just like hers….easy recipe, but some seriously sticky dough ;-)

This was my first time making it, which is surprising. My mother always made it around St. Patrick’s Day. I think the reason I have never made it is that St. Patrick’s Day is my wedding anniversary which usually takes priority!

Thanks to this weeks hosts-Carla of Chocolate Moosey and Cathleen of My Culinary Mission. The recipe can also be found in the book (which I highly recommend) Baking with Julia.
