This post contains a lot of firsts…first blog, first blog post, and first time participating in Tuesdays with Dorie. I am really hoping to look back on this post in a few months and realize my food styling/photography has improved…a lot. It really is so much harder than it seems!
I loved this recipe, it was the perfect first post recipe. The directions were perfect and the result is a loaf of white bread with a chewy crust and soft, but dense, inside. I have baked bread before, not extensively, but never had a better result. I love that it made two loaves since one was gone in less than a day. It is the perfect bread for toast, is great for a sandwich, or my favorite-plain, untoasted with Kerrygold butter.
Thanks to this weeks hosts, Laurie http://slush.wordpress.com/ and Jules http://someonekitchen.blogspot.com/. You can find the recipe on their blogs. Even better buy the book http://www.amazon.com/Baking-Julia-Savor-Americas-Bakers/dp/0688146570/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1328639808&sr=8-1!
