White Loaves: Tuesdays with Dorie

This post contains a lot of firsts…first blog, first blog post, and first time participating in Tuesdays with Dorie. I am really hoping to look back on this post in a few months and realize my food styling/photography has improved…a lot. It really is so much harder than it seems!

I loved this recipe, it was the perfect first post recipe. The directions were perfect and the result is a loaf of white bread with a chewy crust and soft, but dense, inside. I have baked bread before, not extensively, but never had a better result. I love that it made two loaves since one was gone in less than a day.  It is the perfect bread for toast, is great for a sandwich, or my favorite-plain, untoasted with Kerrygold butter.

Thanks to this weeks hosts, Laurie http://slush.wordpress.com/ and Jules http://someonekitchen.blogspot.com/. You can find the recipe on their blogs. Even better buy the book http://www.amazon.com/Baking-Julia-Savor-Americas-Bakers/dp/0688146570/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1328639808&sr=8-1!

  1. Welcome to blog-world! This is a great group to start your journey with.
Looks like everything is lining up well, so far!
Are you joining FFwD too? (I saw the logo on top of your blog) If so, welcome aboard and look forward to seeing your post on Friday.

  2. Blogging is a lot of fun, especially when you’re participating in a group project. I’ve so enjoyed being part of FFwD so far and I’m looking forward to the challenges of this round of TwD, too.
